[Shop-talk] notching metal

I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but when I worked in a machine shop
and made similar, I used an endmill with the material mounted vertical in a
fixture.  If it was thin, I would sandwich it between two sacrificial
pieces of metal.  Absent an endmill, you may be able to duplicate it with a
drill press or possibly a router.  Any excuse for a new tool!  Here are
