Bear in mind that you will have to tweak the dimensions a bit to get the
sides to fit around the bottoms, etc.  With my CAD program, sides are drawn
12" x 16".  Ends then become 10.5" wide by 12" high.  The bases are 10.5"
by 14.5".  So there's still a little waste... You could use the scraps to
make angled pieces to screw or glue in the corners, so they are easier to
clean out.
