Bear in mind that you will have to tweak the dimensions a bit to get the sides to fit around the bottoms, etc. With my CAD program, sides are drawn 12" x 16". Ends then become 10.5" wide by 12" high. The bases are 10.5" by 14.5". So there's still a little waste... You could use the scraps to make angled pieces to screw or glue in the corners, so they are easier to clean out.

On Tue, Oct 16, 2018 at 4:34 PM <eric@megageek.com> wrote:

This is awesome.
Made sense to me.

Multiples of 12" and 16" (minus the saw kerf) should yield pieces
that
will fully utilize a sheet of plywood. Does that work for you?
Otherwise you will have odd bits of about 8" by whatever left over.

One sheet: 24 sides and bottoms (all 12x16)

Second sheet : 20 short sides (12x12) and 3 sides/bottoms (12x16).
That gives you 9 boxes, with two short sides (12x12) left over.

If they have to be 20", then it gets trickier. Is SketchUp still
a thing?
