Unless things have changed in recent years, these 
things cannot just be swapped from brand to 
brand, model to model.  The problem with 
attaching them to the front of the track is the 
door itself will trip the beam and reverse when 
closing.  The only way I could imagine that 
working would be if the sensors were mounted 
completely outside the garage.  That leaves them 
out in the weather, which they are not designed 
for, and you are back to the issues with leaves 
and such.  If you live where it snows, that will be another problem.
