I concur with the CV joint or other drivetrain issue. A motormount usually clunks once on acceleration and then once on deceleration.

However being a FWD car, there are forces of drivetrain and wheel alignment that co-exist. So it could be a loose alignment item that only hits the loose part at 50mph, like a sail flapping in the wind as you steer into the wind. This really sounds like a shop needs to look at it. 

Does it happen at 50mph in reverse? :-)
