[Shop-talk] Mailbox to end all mailboxes

I remember seeing a clever mailbox "post". The owner had gotten tired of
people knocking his box off, so he "hardened it".

He sunk a post into the ground, about 8 feet away from where the box would be
located. Then he made a mount that slipped over the post and had an arm that
extended the 8 feet to the curb. He had it indexed so that as the post
turned, it lifted a bit, with the low spot pointing to the street. If you
nailed the post (with a baseball bat, a car, or what ever), it just pivoted
out of the way. If it didn't return to position by itself, you could give it
a little push and it would swing back.

It's just an idea...
