Danny Glover dispatched two bad guys with a nail gun in "Lethal Weapon II"
but that was pure Hollywood.  Nails have no inherent ballistic stability, I
doubt they'd penetrate at a range beyond a couple feet. A "contact shot"
could be lethal, particularly if the nail penetrated a major blood vessel or
the brain.

Mythbusters could have fun with the concept.
