I joined this group a long time ago. I haven't shown up for many rides in a
long time. I accept that things change (MAYBE YOU HAVE CHANGED).
  When I joined this group, the basic concept was to keep it on the cheap;
(NO CHANGE THERE)
some like minded guys with old Brit sports cars bring a bag lunch and a tank
of gas, and they DRIVE (AND NO CHANGE THERE). They stop and eat somewhere
along the road. I remember
us stopping all kinds of very informal places. It was about driving (AND
REALLY NO CHANGE THERE...EXCEPT NO RON).
I guess the group is now about PROMOTION (?????????????). Well, promotion
costs money (WHAT MONEY?). To
what gain, I ask? I've always found the best promotion for this group was
word
of mouth/face to face (OH, YOUR TALKING ABOUT THE WEBSITE? SO MAYBE THINGS
HAVE CHANGED). But that's just my experience.
I believe you're missing out by not going with the yahoogroups.com setup
(IT'S AN OPTION TOM).
You're not going to be bombarded with advertising (YET). I've moderated a
group with
well over three hundred members and a lot of traffic for ten years, and it's
worked great for this worldwide group of S3 owners.
At this point, I've asked Greg to remove me from the roster. See, what I
really like about the yahoogroup setup is that even as the moderator, i
receive no email to clutter up my inbox or even my junk mail (THAT IS AN
OPTION AS WELL)(which is where
the NOBBC has been with me for a long time, organizationally speaking).
Instead, I just log in when I want to check my mail (AND YOU CAN STILL DO
THAT). I like it simple. Some
day when you folks get things in order, maybe I'll see you at a ride. Keep
the
rubber side down... best wishes, Tom Reier
I AGREE WITH DAN TOM. YOUR EMAIL SEEMS THREATENING, AND VERY SNOBBISH.
"...maybe I'll see you at a ride." (NOT EVEN ON A RIDE). LISTEN TO YOURSELF
TOM. I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU, BUT PLEASE DON'T DO US ANY FAVORS. IF YOU
THINK THINGS SHOULD BE DIFFERENT, PERHAPS YOU SHOULD GET INVOLVED AND NOT
COMPLAIN ABOUT THE WORK BEING DONE BY OTHERS.
OF COURSE SINCE YOU HAVE BEEN REMOVED, YOU PROBABLY WON'T EVEN SEE THIS.
JOKES ON ME...HA HA.
