[Nobbc] Steve's TR4A IRS has been grabbed... (Was: Steve's TR4A IRS is up for grabs!)

Diana (Steve's window and AKA Dee) met me at Denver Intn'l yesterday
and shortly thereafter introduced me to my latest mistress. After
the paperwork was done we toasted the deal with some of Dee's home
brew (rootbeer) and I set out on the adventure.

Yes... some might say having a mistress 22 years younger is of
questionable taste. Still, she's hot looking, even at her age. It's
fun enticing my new girlfriend to come home with me. She's more
delicate than I remember but still strong. I headed out from Dee's
place to go up into the Rockies to visit one of the Land Rover
Brethren in Baily, Colorado. This took far longer than anticipated
and the darkness monsters began threatening us. Seems that she's a
bit bashful and doesn't want to offend the darkness by having any
lights. Well....we do have brake lights and that's a very good thing
since people around here seem to want to follow far too close.

We got as far as Westminster and I looked for some housing that might
offer a roof for both of us. Well the Westin hotel there was plenty
pretentious enough for a tryst with one's latest love but we had to
pay dearly for it. It did rain a drab during the night and she
stayed dry. She also apparently garnered enough attention that the
parking valet looked up TRs on the net so he could explain it to
people asking about her. (incidentally no parking varlet was allowed
to actually touch her)

This morning the wake-up was tough. She wanted to sleep in but I
choked her severely until she came to life. In spite of that
brutality once on the road we went well and got to the Land Rover
friend's place in time to mooch an early brunch. His children ooooo-
ed and ahhhhhh-ed at the pretty red charmer. Then we headed south on
US 285 and West on US 160. We crossed three 10K passes today and she
was a good sport about it. Although she did make it clear that she'd
prefer a little more oxygen to breathe. And then there were those
little rain bursts we passed through... muddied up the exterior
somewhat but the interior only got a few drops. Maybe I'll have to
put up the top tomorrow. Tonight we're in Pagosa Springs, CO....
about an hour and something East of Durango.

The plan from here is to try to avoid the rain but that's looking
rather difficult. Nevertheless, in the morning, it's off to Durango
and then down past Mesa Verde, to Four Corners, across a piece of the
Navajo Reservation and ending up in Flagstaff at the home of another
of the Land Rover afflicted. We are going to have a serious look at
the lights and wipers to see if we can't get them to work.... heck
maybe the horn will get some attention too. Until she's got working
lights I'm imposing a sundown curfew.

Here's a link to a couple photos from today:

One image was on the road to Bailey about noon and the other was shot
a little after six this evening at an overlook on the west side of
Wolf Creek Pass.... on the way into Pagosa Springs. The aspens are
showing some color, as you can see.
