[Nobbc] Jaguar stuff

Bill, the only real problem I had with my 90 XJ6 was the head gasket that
failed at 100,000 which was fairly common on that model. I did the work
myself which took several months and had the head welded and resurfaced at
Norm's Auto machine in Petaluma. Norm does great work; I take all of my
machine work to him. Always very reasonable. I thought about taking the
rear end out myself but that seemed very daunting, my rear bearing were
completely shot. I loved that car so hope that Mark fixes it up. He has an
apprentice who is going to help do the work. Your car should last well into
200,000 miles if well maintained.

Andy

Andy...You give me hope as well. My '90 XJ6 has 106,000 on it and my '92
XJ6 has 117,000. So far
they both run like tops. I had a '91 XJ6 before them that I retired when
it developed an electronic
problem deep inside the tranny(stuck in limp home mode) at about
138,000. It is cheaper to just find
a different Jag in better shape than to do major repairs on these.
