"JUST LIKE HE SAYS...".... the tape should be wound from the block
outwards so it presents
a smooth "drop" to the lips of the oil seal

if you can source a short section of metal pipe the same diameter as the bit
of
oil seal that needs pushing in all the better - this would emulate the
genuine service tool

Two - part primary gear oil seal tool, (known as clutch seal tool). It
includes the sleeve that slides over the primary gear to protect the
seal membrane on the gear splines, plus the outer body that pushes the
seal home square. This is achieved by using the flywheel bolt in the
end and tightening.
