[Mgs] HIF Carb Hesitation

My ‘72 B hesitates when I accelerate, especially when I initially press the pedal.  I switched to a 20w dashpot oil, but no change.  I’ve used carb cleaner on the pistons and cleaned the jets.


I could tolerate the hesitation upon initial hesitation, but the car misses once on the highway at high speed.  If I back-off the acceleration slightly, the engine will catch.


I bought the car 10 years ago but never rebuilt the HIF carbs.  I don’t use it regularly and haven’t had the problem until recently.  Besides the pistons not responding properly, I thought maybe it’s fuel flow or a float sticking?
