Bill,

Shorten the choke cable at the output end so the first 3/8-inch of
travel works fast idle only, and the rest of travel does full pull
down on the main jets.

You can re-bush the carbs at home: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/carbs/cb210c.htm
A bit trickier cross drilling the shafts to re-install the throttle arms.

The brass shafts wear out twice as fast as the throttle bodies, so
you might replace shafts twice before the bodies need to be re-bushed.

When the shafts leak at the journals, SOP is to enrich the mixture
until you get good idle. That should result in slightly rich mixture
at higher speed, but generally drivable.
