I don’t think there is anything wrong with tube shock conversions, but I wouldn’t expect any massive improvement, either.

New shocks will seem an improvement over old shocks, either way.

I went with a telescopic shock conversion 25 years ago, but that was because it was half the cost of new Armstrong dampers. I do not believe that is the case at present. My new project is getting lever shocks as Abingdon intended.
