Check your fuel filter!!  

 

Also  if you have a charcoal canister as part of the pollution control
system, make sure the air line that runs from the fuel tank to the canister
is not clogged.  This line vents air to the fuel tank.  If the line is
clogged, a vacuum will develop in the gas tank as the fuel is drawn to the
carburetors.  

 

If you have compressed air, blow air through the line where it attaches to
the charcoal canister.  Remove the gas cap and have someone listen for air
escaping from the fuel filler neck.
