[Mgs] OT - F1

"Lotus proved that a British 'small' engine could beat an American large
engine." This is true, but McLaren proved that a large American Engine
trumps a small engine, and Porsche proved that a largish blown engine with a
million horsepower trumps all and kills the goose at the same time.

Lotus proved that a British 'small' engine could beat an American large
engine, which is a different thing. Speed limitation has been one of the
constant aims of the FIA, whether through engine size, tyre width and even
formulation, and aerodynamic restrictions. Consequently making the races
processional, hence the compulsory refuelling stops for a time. After a
brief flurry or more interesting seasons a couple of years ago last year was
as dull as ever. Most of the changes are to try and produce more
competition, but they always fail, a team with a lot of money will always do
better than one with no money, no matter how often they change the rules.

What would be interesting is the drivers drawing lots for the car they will
drive ...
