[Mgs] Excessive Voltage?

You probably want to measure the voltage at the coil with the ignition
on, engine stopped and points closed.

What you are attemtping to measure is a voltage that is changing.
Also, even if your meter is measuring a true average, this value will
change depending on the engine speed.
