[Mgs] brake light switch / short question

Last week I put new dash switches in, all seemed well.  I did get a spark (or
two) when pulling out the light switch...yea, I know battery.... Anyway the
brake lights don't work right now and they did prior to this, did I somehow
burn the switch? I checked the wires and connections and adjusted the switch,
all seems ok, no luck.
