FWIW MG say (said?) the oil in the PG1 gearbox on the modern saloons doesn't
need to be periodically replaced, but it does on the R65.  The gearboxes are
interchangeable and either could be fitted.  Mine is an R65 (typical!).

An as you say, OD *is* an automatic gearbox.
