I would leave the front or even raise it, you need the whole assembly to
move forward enough to clear the permanent crossmember then you angle the
engine up and tranny down about 45 degrees to get it to clear.  A leveler on
your cherry picker makes all the difference.. 20 bucks at harbor freight.

clarification: i'm talking about pulling the engine and tranny together.
sorry.  not doing clutch or anything else - this was all done recently when 
we put the od unit in, which i was told was good.  they lied.
