[Mgs] steering damper

Paul,

I have squirted some 90 oil via the gaiter into the steering rack of 
my '70 MGB GT V8 but I have been told that one can more easily put 
oil in through the damper cover.   Is it critical to get the oil 
quantity just right?  I understand that the rack takes 1/3 of a pint.
