Thanks Jose, for your information.
There are no holes in the tool box, where the plate would mount.
The Korean War began June 25, 1950. With brass used for making shell
casings, they might have stopped adding the plate to the cars October
1, 1950.
They stopped chroming the entire headlamp bucket, to conserve on the use
of chromium, so that rifle barrels could be coated.
Just speculation for an end date for installation of the plate.
