[Land-speed] Towing ( near LSR )

There are two values to pay attention to for safe towing. The combined
weight limit is largely concerned with the ability of the braking system to
safely stop the total mass at some speed (other issues left out for
simplicity). In addition, all towing vehicles have front axle limits which
are concerned with steering control. Front axle weight is significantly
influenced by the type of trailer hitch set-up. Weight distribution hitches
allow greater trailer weight because they tend to load the front axle. Other
hitch styles unload the front axle. Combined weight AND front axle weight
are BOTH limited. It is not ''either/or''. -Kirk.

There is a GCW (gross combined weight) as well as GVW for each hauling-type
vehicle. The GCW will give you the max total mass including trailer, load,
passengers, and air in the cab. The GVW will give you the max allowed in
the vehicle itself, including load, passengers, etc.
