Bobbys, 

Have you tried your nearest chapter of SCCA (Sports Car Club Of America). 

They are usually running autocross, rally and other various events and sometimes have some pretty decent timing equipment.

A large roll of wire to extend it over the distance would probably be required.   

I know Maine is the 'boondocks' but whatever the nearest SCCA club is, they should be 'very interested' in that huge patch of asphalt you've got and should be able to be enticed to participate on a trade-out basis.
