[Land-speed] high milage car

Somewhere about 20 yrs ago Holmann and Moody ( of NASCAR  fame) were on the 
local news with a Ford Escort which they installed a  Perkins Diesel and were 
claiming 75 mpg.    I would love to put  together a small pick up truck with 
this engine and a 5 speed gear  box.   Anything diesel has to be better than a 
gasoline  engine.
