All good info and advice so far, for which many thanks. It’s worth considering that:-
I’m not at all concerned with the appearance of the tyres as I, for one, have never studied that topic sufficiently to be able to differentiate.
I don’t need to pay for a tyre that’s capable of doing things that I won’t require. A set of Michelin XAS will almost certainly last longer than I will. They are very pricey and I expect that one gets what one’s paid for. But they seem a little OTT for my requirements.
Still thinking about the T-tracs,
Simon

I too have had good luck with the Sprint Clasdics, which grip decently, at least on dry roads. A more modern tread design would probably improve wet grip for those rarer occasions when we get caught in the rain. The key will be if they kept the vintage sidewall look that helps make the Sprints so appealing …

I have no experience with them, but I've had years with V. Sprint Classics. I'd be interested in a comparison; offhand, the tread looks more modern on the T-Tracs.

Sorry to wake this topic up again……..
My 3000’s tyres are 14 yrs old. They aren’t worn and there is no visible cracking but I’m thinking that their time has come.
I’m a pretty placid driver. I live in Devon, SW UK, so the car is more usually to be found pottering around the countryside than thrashing its way up and down the motorways. I do take it to Le Mans every year but that’s not a long drive from here and I seldom take it much over 70 and, normally, I’m at 60 to 65.
So………I’m looking at the Vredstein T-trac 2. It seems to be one of the better middle priced tyres. I do note reviews saying that it’s “a good tyre for smaller cars”. Not quite sure what that’s implying nor what defines a “small” car. Weight, I suppose.
So, what’s the accumulated wisdom on these Vredsteins? Thank you.
Simon
