[Healeys] BJ8 1967 Engine Rebuild failure

In addition to this list, I frequent a couple forums and am a member of
a couple Facebook Healey clubs. I see long blocks--everything sans carbs
and manifolds--come up for sale occasionally. I sometimes see pistons
F/S, but don't recall any short blocks or bearing caps (presumably the
blocks would have caps).
What caused the original clank and loss of oil pressure?
