[Healeys] The single most confusing engine shutdown problem ever!

Sounds like you have checked everything on the ignition system. Could be fuel related. What do the spark plugs look like? If the ceramic is black then too rich if white then too lean. Lastly there is the ground wire that runs from the coil to the battery shutoff switch. Could the wire be grounding somewhere? Try disconnecting it at the coil.
