Patrick,I also have Ray's rocker cover and I just switched over to the silicone gasket and found that it seals much better and have less oil seeping around the edges. I used the one for the "original" cover, because it was what I had. It has a flat side and a rounded side side. I used Permatex blue silicone sealant and lightly coated the flat side of the gasket and adhered that to Ray's rocker cover. With the gasket in place, I set the rocker cover on a completely flat surface and let it sit for a couple of hours, letting the Permatex cure to the cover. I then placed it back on my head, tightened it down and didn't run the engine for a day. I was very pleased when I did run the engine as to how much better the rocker cover sealed to the head. With the cork gasket, I always had a little oil seepage. I have also taken the rocker cover off now maybe three times to adjust my valve clearances and reused the same gasket every time. I was just very careful with removal, the gasket stuck to the cover and came cleanly off the head. Works for me. I'm very pleased, like you, with the quality of Ray's rocker cover and now I'm even more pleased with how clean my engine remains with the silicone gasket in place. I always keep a spare gasket at hand, but so far, knock wood, I haven't needed to use the spare silicone gasket. Steven KingsburyBN1On Oct 20, 2023, at 6:51 AM, patrick williams <2x2doc at gmail.com> wrote:I have the excellent Ray Juncal rocker cover with a cork gasket.  I noticed that Moss sells a silicone gasket.   So 2 questions for the list:1.  Is the silicone gasket worth it?2.  Moss has 2 versions, one for the original rocker cover and one for "alloy covers". No other explanation.   Anyone have an opinion on which to get? Thanks.Pat Williams1960 BT7_______________________________________________Support Team.Net http://www.team.net/donate.htmlSuggested annual donation $12.75Archive: http://www.team.net/pipermail/healeys http://autox.team.net/archive/healeysHealeys@autox.team.nethttp://autox.team.net/mailman/listinfo/healeysUnsubscribe/Manage: http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/healeys/airtightproductions@icloud.com
