Harold-I looked thru my hardware records, and also the article by Curt
Arndt, and as you say there is no mention of the "M" prefix for
screws.
However, the M is used to designate SLOTTED NUTS as found in the
Volume 25, Austin Service Journal "Repairs Data" P. 30-31. The M=WIDTH
OF THE SLOT from a minimum of .090 to .260. These are for UNF type
nuts. Regards, Hank

	All “xxx604” screws are #6 x 05”. The “T” is for self
tapping and the “Z” is for zinc but what head type does the
“M” stand for? I looked at all my BMC fastener lists and could not
find anything for an “M” head screw.

That may be, David. I agree that ¼” seems a bit short, but the
chart where I got the length is headed “Length inch” and the value
is given as ¼. I tried to remove one of them from my car to verify
the length, but clearance it too tight to get a good grip because of
the rear seat back frame.

The last number is the length in 8ths not 16ths So it would be 4/8 in
length.

The BMC parts manual for BJ7/BJ8 says it is an MTZ604 screw -- #6,
self-tapping, zinc plated, ¼” long. 10 required.

Sorry to have to ask - but I've looked in all the places I can think
of (Anderson & Moment / fastersxls, and even being on the phone with
Moss motors for far too long)...

Can anyone tell me what the type of screw is for fastening the rear
trim rail (the one that is used for clipping the bottom of the top) to
the body?

	Thanks in advance,

	Neil
