 Hello Richard,
Thank you for that.  The best reading I can get on the harshly corroded piece is .036"!    The outside is of course perfect from all the oil sloshing over it.  The top face of the outrigger is badly corroded from the standing water blotted up by the fibre matting under the carpet.  What larks!

Does anyone please happen to know the correct gauge of steel used on the BJ8 chassis outriggers?  Mine are so badly corroded on the inside that it's impossible to tell!  If I'm VERY careful I'll be able to get a pattern off them, at least!
