It's not so much a case of re-inventing the wheel, Mr. Nock, as trying to stick to a somewhat limited budget!  My philosophy throughout the restoration has been: "patch if possible, replace when not" and that's where you come in, Mr. Nock.  Whilst I have nothing but admiration for you and other suppliers, and your products (O.K. allow me to rephrase that..... SOME other suppliers!), by the time I've bought said item and shipped it up here to Canada, paid duty and taxes on the thing; the alternative prospect of making a cardboard pattern, then diving into my stock of sheet metal, plasma-cutting the outline and shaping it to fit at possibly a fraction of the cost - not to mention the delivery time - of one of your splendid products looks decidedly attractive.
I'm somewhat fortunate in that my BJ8 only suffers from relatively minor rust and so patching is a viable option.

Does anyone please happen to know the correct gauge of steel used on the BJ8 chassis outriggers?  Mine are so badly corroded on the inside that it's impossible to tell!  If I'm VERY careful I'll be able to get a pattern off them, at least!
 Thanks to all.
