[Healeys] Mating a 6 cyl transmission to a BN1

What I don’t understand is how the Smitty/Healey 5 speed conversion (bell housing) is advertised to bolt up to a 100/4, 100/6 and 3000. But I’m now told told you need a special 100/4 engine plate to make it work. What’s the story?
