With the number of orig good cables I would guess are still out there why not go with that?  Merely replace the attachments if necessary.

Yep, my BJ8 still has the original cable, it's fine.  Just need to make sure the battery clamp is kept clean every couple of years.  the downside is the boot over the solenoid terminal is rock hard now..... hard to remove!
Cheers,
Alan

Ray, for what it is worth, my 1959 BT7 still has the original battery cable and I have never had an issue with it other than I replaced  the battery clamp about 10 years ago.  Sometimes I think we try to fix problems that don’t exist.  Relative cost is  the only factor that I can see is really relevant, and I have no idea how the costs compare. From: Healeys <healeys-bounces at autox.team.net> On Behalf Of Ray Juncal via Healeys

Subject: [Healeys] Battery cable I am about to make up a long battery cable ( rear battery to solenoid ). It's a long run and I only want to do this once in the best way possible. I appeal to the wisdom of the list for tips and suggestions. I have heard that heavier gauge welding cable is the trick..what about end connectors clamp or solder on? I'm not worried about a factory original look.  _______________________________________________
