Hi Richard:

What are you trying to accomplish / why do you need to change the shifter position? The shift tower in the picture appears to be correct for a center shift big Healey… Also, don’t the modern Healey 5-Speed kits come with a shift tower and shift lever?

Did I miss an email describing the issue?

All the best,

In the attached photo you will see examples of two different length arms, each with a socket at the end for the bottom end of the shifter stick to go into. These arms are attached to an internal shifter rod by a single bolt.

In order to change the shift lever position, it is necessary to change the tower AND the arm with the socket that has the appropriate length. In order to change the arm it is necessary to open up the transmission to gain access to the arm and shifter rod. It is impossible to do this without splitting the transmission.
