[Healeys] Water pump leak

Thanks Michael.  In the pic I sent did you notice the unusual pulley fitted?  3/8 pulley as well.  It also has the lubrication hole.  I ran the car today and with close looking spied the dribble from that lower hole you mentioned.
I have another pump of unknown condition - took it off another BJ8 long long ago.  No lube hole so must be for later car.  Spins free with no play or grinding.  Think I may make a gasket for it and put it on.  Not much to lose but a little of my time which is cheap.

There was an AEC2019 original body casting for the late pumps which had no facility for lubrication because this pump used a sealed cartridge type bearing.
The earlier versions of the AEC2019 did have a lubrication hole which was closed off with a plug.
This is a picture of the bottom such a pump casting,
For Keith the hole with the rust stains is where coolant that leaks past the seal leaks out.

Look very carefully Keith and you will probably find that the leakage is from the hole in the casting just forward of the gasket. That hole is there to allow any coolant that comes past the seal to leak out before it can get into the bearings.Those pumps are pretty easy to rebuild. The instructions are in the Workshop Manual and I  have a kit for them.
