 Mike nailed it. The first photo is a fabricated part made when the trans swap was done in order to use the BN-1 restraint bar with the BN-2 trans. BN-1 has a cast in mount in the same place as your fabricated one. See photo of BN-1 trans, mount in center of photo.

 Looks as though you are trying to put a BN2 gearbox into a BN1.The BN2 restraint bar hole should be in the center of the small cross member and the overdrive should have an "eye" cast behind the drain plug at accept the "U" of the restraint bar.
