I've been playing with Austin Healeys since I got my first one in 1977 ( a
'58 100-6). I've owned and driven many more. I also raced a BN7 3000 for
over 30 years. In my experience I've never felt the need for a steering
damper. So, I'm confused. What situation would necessitate the addition of
a damper? And, I should also add that I took first place in the
slalom/autocross at the All British Field Meet in my '60 BT7 this last
September at the Portland International Raceway. The steering worked just
fine.
