[Healeys] Offset or Bad Q.C.?

I am wondering if there is a difference in the upper profile of the doors between the earlier and later cars. It seems like the sockets need a flatter surface in that area to work with the side curtains I have. It’s an early car, but the doors are not necessarily original to it. I have a set of the Perspex frames I intend to rebuild to fit, but I think I will end up having to bend the posts or the frames to make them fit.

It is part of the adjustment (tilt) to move the top of the side curtains against the top material. Don’t forget there is always more to the story. On almost all of the 100 side curtains except the perplex plastic ones, the adjustment for a good fit involved tweaking the metal frame a bit to get the top of the screen to fit snug against the top material. Rotating the sockets only gives so much adjustment. Oh if the wood block in the door has been messed with, all your hard work may be for not. This is another reason almost every outer panel, windshield, sidecurtains, etc should be test fit before the metal and body/paint work is completed.

I am installing the side curtain sockets in the doors of my BN2. These sockets are new from Moss. Am I missing something? The hole through the center of the socket is offset from the center. Is it supposed to be like that and why? Also, not exactly a flush fit to the door skin, but very tight in the threaded hole. Kind of a bummer.
