[Healeys] Radio speakers

If you get a period radio these are rarely more than 5-7W per channel 
(if there are 2 channels at all). Do not get speakers that are capable 
of more than 15-20W peak as more will give you a bad sound quality and 
lower volume. Take care that the impedance of the speakers match the 
radio. The impedance required is usually 8 Ohms, some 4 Ohms. An 
impedance lower than advised may damage the radio.

If you get a modern digital (classic look) radio match the speakers to 
the output and impedance required.

Always use two wires per speaker from the radio to the speakers, do not 
use earth for one of the wires.

Do not go for top notch quality speakers. That will be a waste as there 
is to much back ground noise from the car.

A very powerful radio, say around a 100W, will be an extra strain on 
your alternator/generator.

There are plenty of good period radio's with FM available at specialised 
dealers or on eBay (I have a collection of about 400 according to SWMBO)
