I am sad to learn Oliver Bienz passed away. He repaired all 4 of the gauges on my BT7 a few years ago and did a great job. He was a skilled watch maker and branched out into instrument repair as time pieces went electronic. His skills will be hard to replace

Just an fyi, so that other folks don't bother the Bienz family -  I just emailed Oliver this am to ask about getting my speedo fixed, and apparently he passed away suddenly in January :-( 

Any other <canadian> suggestions? Or is there a good diy guide somewhere? The Anthony Rhodes guide is ok - except it leaves out one small & initial critical detail - how to get the trip odometer shaft & knob off.

Make sure your comparing apples for apples.  There are alot of variables and levels of ‘restoration’.  I have not done business with either of those companies, only Nisonger’s many years ago.  Let us know what you decide and the end result.  I have a KPH Speedometer that I am considering getting restored.

I thought that quote was not bad, but I was in shock when Palo Alto Speedometer quoted $375!  Usually I don't let price alone determine who I do business with, but in this case it may just be the determining factor.
