[Healeys] Valvoline VR-1 20W-50 @ walmart.com

OK, did an exhaustive investigation--i.e. a google search--and found the
following:

https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/4026951/California_bans_sale_of_obsole

This is just some guy on the internet, but the info is more
comprehensive than anything else I found, short of reading all the
applicable statutes.  Makes sense, though, as I've never heard of zinc
or ZDDP being banned, and I checked the bottles I just bought and there
is no 'SAE API SERVICE' rating at all on them at all.  So, my hypothesis
is that Valvoline pulled VR-1 from shelves in 2016 because it had no
label or an SN or prior rating, making the oil 'obsolete.'  I haven't
checked whether there is any VR-1 on the shelves anywhere in California.

At any rate, Wally Mart will deliver to your California home, for free
(they even refunded me $0.12 they appeared to have overcharged).
