Lifting the damper to test the mixture is a very vague measure. User a
propper mixture test equipment.

See attached which is what I was working off and which some may find useful
for future reference.

My car is a BT7 but it has 3 HD6s. All linked together and all seemingly
running +/- in concert. All per the procedure outlined in the attached.

When I tried testing the mixture with the so-called “lifting pin” on two of
the carbs, all went well and I had results that I could work with. HOWEVER,
on the third, lifting that pin stops the engine dead in its tracks. Very
strange.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Simon
