After one year the rebuilt engine is running smoothly. With the help of my
two great friends, After getting the timing correct and the ignition leads
sorted out, the engine started and then stopped which was obviously out of
fuel. The rear carb float bowel was dry because the ball valve was stuck.
After cleaning out the valve and the channel in the inlet, and reassembling
the carb, the engine started quickly and ran smoothly. However, the front
carb is leaking from the lower housing, so I have to take it apart and
install new gaskets as they must have dried up in the one year they were in
storage. A few more other items to install in the engine compartment, new
gaskets in a few places etc. I hope to drive it soon.

Now I am ready to install the interior with new heat insulation. What is
the recommended caulking compound to use when installing the tunnel? Is it
recommended to install heat insulation on the transmission side of the
tunnel. If so, what to use, for example heavy duty 3M spray or?

Regards,
