[Healeys] OD Problem?

Nah.
Just tap the steel ring in the overdrive with your knock off hammer to release the springs.
Works every time. For me anyway.
The springs release the overdrive, and sometimes, they get just get stuck.
It's a mystery of the world.
But a few taps on that steel plate seems to realign the planets. And release those pesky springs!
Allegedly.
Worked for me. 3 times in the past 35 years. Mostly when I'd driven the car hard.
But it seems to fix the issue, when you can't select reverse.
And it's so much easier on the bench, than on your back, lying under the car!
Best
Chris.

This is true before and after the pressure has been released. Before getting pressure in the OD it rotated by hand in both directions. I haven't tried to engage the OD. It's a hard mechanical stop. I'm afraid the one-directional clutch be engaged and I don't want to break anything.
