I happen to have my grille not yet installed, but restored.  I measured 13 3/4" from top edge to bottom edge at the back of my grille.  The opening in my shroud measured the same way as yours is 13 1/2".  looks like the opening in the shroud of your car is slightly too big, but should not be a problem for a normal size grill.  I think you should consider looking for another grill.Mike MacLean
