other than the 3 years i was stationed in spain i have driven my bj8 continuously for about 400,000 miles since 1978 and it 
is still used daily.  i have had a few pumps start to stutter but i make it home and replace the points.  i always carry a spare 
pump and extra points just in case.  i was really surprised that the solid state pump quit working after being stored in the 
boot as a spare for a few years.  no moisture problems in las vegas, so wonder what the problem was.
