[Healeys] question

The reference to bicycle tyres and wheels seems strange to me in  the context of Healeys

That all tyres are metric seems strange, because IIRC Ferrari bought out at a time tyres that were metric and you can only buy a certain Michelin.

A lot of owners bought new wheels so they could have a greater variety

Tire diameters are actually metric by definition but quoted in Inches by convention.
