[Healeys] Year plate

I found this discussion interesting. I have a ’69 Jag with a California tag, but it is a small brass tag stamped “68 JA” if I remember correctly (it was a late ’68 build). Was it up to the distributors or dealers to put their own form of tags on? Or were these put on at the factory (which seems to be the case with one of the notes in Scott’s attached document). Thanks.
Bob

John; the information in the attached file will explain the California Year Plates. It contains emails from members of the Healey List that answered similar questions.
Enjoy.

Cars sold in California had a year plate screwed to the firewall. It is very thin black plastic. It is heat stamped in white letters – BMC-62. I can’t find the plastic to make one. Anyone have a source for the plastic or someone that has had them made?
