Roland, I think you are on the right track, I have issues with GMail and
with Verizon (now AOL mail). I have to create a filter in my GMail app on
my phone to allow messages to be delivered to my inbox and not to the spam
folder. It is really irritating to have to do that, but Google Mail isn't
about to help I suspect. Verizon mail had become so unreliable that I
switched to GMail, only to encounter the spam issue. I regularly get the
"bounced" messages from the Healey list but I still seem to get most of the
messages that come from the list, but I may be missing a lot myself, it is
difficult to tell. In the GMail app on my phone, messages from the list
have the message stating that "this message was not sent to spam due to a
filter I created" or something to that effect. I have accounts with several
email servers but none are completely reliable, each having its own set of
issues. The GMail service seems to be really aggressive when making the
determination as to whether a sender or message is SPAM or not. I have
tried sending emails to them to have them not label Healey list messages as
spam, but to no avail or even a response. So Michael, I suggest you check
your spam folders for missing messages, and probably go to GMail on via your
browser as opposed to an email client like Outlook which is getting worse
with every update from Microsoft, it is almost unresponsive anymore. If you
go to your email account in a browser, check to see if missing messages are
sitting in a spam folder. You may find a large number there.

I can only offer a clue. I opened a gmail account in order to avoid
the bounces, and that helped me a lot (it doesn't appear to have
helped you, though). I can receive aol.com emails from Perry Small
sent to me directly but every one that goes through 'healeys' gets
bounced or, I guess, has to be massaged manually by MJB before it
comes to me a week or so later. Since I do receive quite a lot of
list email daily I usually get to read Perry's messages as quoted in
someone else's reply.

You appear to be getting practically all list email bounced and not
delivered to you. If you go to the trouble of reading the bounced
emails perhaps you can discover something that you can do to reduce
the number. Gmail is certainly not going to go out of its way to help
us.

So, some combination of how aol.com formats its messages and how the
Healeys list reformats them strikes gmail as bogus or spam.

But if it is also bouncing emails not sent to the list via aol, then
something else must be going on, and affecting you more than me.
Perhaps your emails are being trapped by your email reader, and sent
to trash, with only the aol's being bounced before they reach your
reader?
